After residents on Jal Vayu road complained of the mess left after the last road dig, the Panch Shri Santosh Desai got hold of the contractor and got the place cleaned up.
As promised, mini football ground (opp Leo Park, Suryanagar), is being done by the Panch Shri Santosh Desai. S. J. Constructions, Pillai supplied 50 trucks of mud, JCB, road roller, personnel and other equipment. More work has to be done but a great start has been made.

The M.E.S College road is full of encroachments. The road has become smaller causing traffic congestions. Despite appeals to the shop owners, nothing happened. The Residents were fed-up.
So, yesterday the Panch Shri Santosh Desai, govt. surveyor, govt engineer and Sancoale Panchayat Secretary came and we conducted an official re-survey of the M.E.S. College road and all properties lining it. This was witnessed by the shop owners and residents. Now we will have an official report on all encroachments that have taken place. As per procedure, action will follow.
There was a huge response to the FREE Homeopathic camp conducted by Homeopathic medical Association of India and Fit Mission Goa at the office of the Panch Shri Santosh Desai.

FREE Computer classes for housewives was inaugurated at M.E.S College under the social outreach program of the college. It was inaugurated by our Panch Shri Santosh Desai and the college principal Dr (Mrs) Manasvi Kamat. The program was organized by Dept. Of Information Technology in association with IQAC and
conducted by professor Sandeep Kadam.
The Panch Shri Santosh Desai organized and inaugurated the Konkani Speaking classes for non-Goans. There are many who have settled in Goa but don't speak the local language. The Konkani Speaking classes were meant to help integrate them into the Goan society. Hats off to the students most of whom are senior citizens for coming forward and willing to make the effort.
The Panch Shri Santosh Desai found a contractor busy digging up a road that had just been repaired and cleared. The contractor had no authorization or permissions. The Panch lodged a complaint and the police confiscated the equipment which was later released after the contractor promised to produce the necessary documents as well as repair the damaged road. 140
Many new residents in ward # 1 had contacted the Panch Shri Santosh Desai on their desire to learn Konkani. He intends to arrange a 2-hour, once-a-week Konkani speaking classes at Airway Public school. Start date, timing etc. will be decided in consultation with the participants. Nobody likes gutters but they are the most important part of any community. Good gutters = quick and proper drainage and prevents flooding. Today the Panch inspected the ongoing work on gutters in Vidyanagar. He also inspected all the other gutters. He noted that some areas had no gutters. Over the years some gutters were buried in mud. He has decided to take a fresh look at all the gutters in Vidyanagar. 170
